Three posts in one week?! What's going on?! Here is the #dyinglight #machete I hinted at the other day. It's a really fun build, painting's a bit weird though, carefully mottle the blade, then flick a load of red paint over it, then daub a load of white paint over that and then airbrush it neon green. Very much a 'trust the process' job this one.

It's always nice to see an improvement... each time I make one of these runes I try to do something new with them. This time I used pigment powders (or y'know, ground up pastels) for some weathering.

I keep the old rune handy as a map as to where the smaller glyphs need to go.

It's nearly there... the third updated #40k #chainsword pattern is well on its way. Question is, what chapter will it be? #greyknights are a strong contender, obviously #bloodangels are in the running, definitely not #imperialfists - I love the yellow but someone needs to invent a yellow paint that isn't garbage - nor will it be #ultramarines

Just out of shot is a #dyinglight #machete being primed... I don't think I've been more excited to paint a prop... stay tuned for that!

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty. Many, many years ago I was lucky enough to have the immeasurable honour and privilege of a brief audience with Her Majesty The Queen and His Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. I may not always know what day it is or how old I am, but I will never forget that particular day. God rest her soul. Long live the King.

Photoshop doesn't love it though, it's not happy about crunching through an .psd that's pushing close to 2gb - might be time to make a new master.

The brown paper and cereal boxes have turned into this #astramilitarum #chainsword from the #warhammer40k universe. I'd been planning on redesigning my old chainsword pattern for a while now. This is the #imperialguard version, specifically #cadian, but I have #spacemarine and #chaos variants coming soon. Naturally they'll all be #combatsafe for you hardcore #40k #larpers out there.
